Holmes School VIP partners:
Burger
King at 48th and Van Dorn--
Burger King has provided student
treat bags for the monthly celebration of birthdays. They have also
provided breakfast for the staff on one of the elementary planning
days. They periodically host a Holmes Burger King night after which
a portion of the sales comes back to the school.
Cornhusker
Bank--
The bank has provided rolls for
the staff and bank representatives also come to the school to talk
with students about business-related topics.
BryanLGH
East--
BryanLGH has provided the staff
with meeting room space and also with wonderful sack lunches on some
of the parent-teacher conference nights.
U.S. Post Office--
Holmes Elementary is one of the
participating schools with Wee deliver. Wee Deliver is a VIP program
developed by the U.S. Post Office. Fourth graders are the workers
for the in-school postal system. Each class has a penpal classroom
and the students write letters at least once a month.Teachers work
with students on letter form and writing addresses correctly on
the envelopes.
